Is this a shrine? What of?

For Gauchito Gill

Yes, it’s a shrine to Gauchito Gill, there’s a statue of him in the picture. He has a beard, is holding bolos, and we have no idea who he is. A gaucho is like a Argentinian cowboy, and Gauchito means little gaucho. I’ve seen G.G. bumper stickers, and even a carnaceria, or meat market, named after him. We’re still trying to unravel the mystery of G.G.
